only 172 runs separates sachin from becoming highest run getter in test cricket . it is one of the few batting records that is left for him to conquer in his world. by doing that feat , he would overcome one of the another finest player of all time none another than lara. i love watching these 2 players.

i started watching cricket by seeing how sachin plays .. it was his 127 not out innings against kenya , which made me a hardcore cricket fan. i started watching all matchs including test till 2003 world  cup and after that , i watched matches only on special occasions and restricted my  following with hindu sports page  and cricinfo :)

in al these years , he is one of the players who has shown such commitment , consistency and skill. it would be one of the greatest sorrows , when he finishes his career without a world cup victory in his bag(he has slightest of chances with 2011). he always makes his bat speaks for himself unlike his other counterparts.

INNINGS THAT LIKED MOST (there may be other great innings , but i may have  missed it live :P )

* 90 against australia in 1996 world cup
* 169 against SA in 1997
* back to back cup winning hundreds 143 and 134 against australia in sharjah
* 155 againsht australia in 1996 in chennai
* 136 against pakistan in 1998 ( series in which kumble took 10 wickets in an innings )
* 186 against NZ in hyd (  oDI match )
* 140* against kenya in 1999 world cup( after returing from his dad’s demise )
* 98 against pak in 2003 world cup( one of the best)
* 50 odd against england in 2003 world cup( for his pull shot 6 of caddick :) )
* his 241 aginst aus in sydney(some critcise it for being more onsided innings)

there are other good innings too in this last few years.. but i was not privleged to see those :(

on 20 7 2008 . Ms Madhu Shalini IAS came to trichy employment office to a meet organised by UPSC study circle. she has cleared the civil services and came there to give a short speech about her experiences.. she has graduated from college of engineering guidy ,anna university as ece student in the year 2006(she was a triple centum student in her board exams).she has quit her placements in order to focus on the civil services examinations. she was one of the very few persons to clear the upsc exams in the first attempt . she has took public administraction and geography as her optional subjects . she spoke about the method of study,amount of dedication needed to clear the examinations.

best part is the  Q&A sessions . she is one of the smartest persons , i have ever seen :) . the way she answered in her interview and students queries proved it .

question : how do you feel to work in bihar or UP as a girl ?

answer : both bihar and UP is INDIA ONLY . you would have added north-eastern states where the disturbances elements are more.  where is more trouble , there is more need for civil servants to help the people and nation

question : how to you feel when a politician not as uneducated as u presiding over the system and having a final word in policy making ?

answer : the constitution has clearly stated that people are the more important and so their representives are vested with highest powers .so i fully knew my job is to implement the people welfare systems and help the representative in policy making and more over , we should at the chair only and not the person sitting in it .

these were samples , she was answering queries with calm face and shrewd thinking . she shown her traces of brilliance in international and national issues too . while returning , my friend asked me “113th ippadi na 1st person eppadi da ” ( she has secured 113th rank in civil services ) . after a second , i replied smiling ” may be like us da :P

The avatar is  the smartest person in the world  by his acumen and ability to predict things correctly

This book is less of a story book and tries  to explain about the faith , who is god  , and more. if u have enjoyed reading  god’s debris and i assure , you would enjoy this book too

The Alchemist is written by paulo cohelo .. this is a story of a shepherd , who chases his dreams from spain to pyramids in egypt. the boy , becomes a shepherd  in his eager to travel the world and  his life takes a turn when  he saw a old king who makes him to chase his dreams . in his long journey , boy understands the language of his world with the help of an alchemist and finally realize his destiny and  this book is about chasing our dreams and realizing once destiny.

some lines, that caught my attention ..

” “If a person is living out his destiny, he knows everything he needs to know. There is only one thing that
makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”

“life really is generous to those who pursue their destiny,”

i recently visited chennai for a 3 day visit.. it has been my friend’s and mine long time wish to visit my friends living there.. 3 days has been great :) . it started with a travel to zoo , we had a nice time seeing animals instead of usual boring human faces :) . then we al visited a hotel ,rain forest by name  for dinner and waited for 45 min before we can taste our foods . our  night  didn ends here , we started playing in xbox :) . myself and nachi stayed in venky’s house in all 3 days and had  a great time in his house.

on the second day , our day started with cricket with venky’s friends in beach . then  we visited citi-center and spencers . we did some purchase .  we saw “the happenings’ by  “manoj N shyamalan “  in INOX . we were been busy that day right from morning till we slept.. so we decided to take rest and  have fun on the next day .

so  we visited sairam’s house on 3rd day and though there was no electricity in his house , there was no shortage of fun :P :P . we played some games too there :) .i was willing to visit the home of these ppl again  :) . not only this visit, all my visits to handfull of friends @ trichy & madurai . my other visits to karaikudi,melur,nellai and odanchatram all were memorable . always visiting friends home and having fun is great .

i just planning for some more visits in near future , my next one would be probably to jayamkondam :) . i love my friends  , i wanna keep them al :)

when all the hype created with the realease of harry potter and the deathly hallows , last book of the harry potter series . i decided to have a shot at harry potter. it turned out to be much more enjoyable than i thought. i read first 4 books last year but i cant continue reading the rest in the series due to my project works. since i was a enjoying a break now, i was able to continue and complete my journey into the wizarding world of harry potter :)

it is story about the surivial adventures of harry potter along with this friends ron weasley , hermoine granger and Dumbledore , most powerful wizard & headmaster @ hogwarts against the dark wizard “he-who-must-not-be-named” , LORD voldemort . book starts with harry joining the hogwarts school at 11 and each book describes a years experinence of harry potter . the book is written in the perpective of harry potter with few expections, so it would make you to travel with him .The book just took me to the whole new world of magic and magical creatures .i liked the imagination with which the book has written , with wands, lot of spells , historical references and so on. all the individual characters have something spl but i feel 2 characters made the novel much more interesting to read and for the plot of the story . They were sirius black , harry’s godfather and snape , potions’s master @ hogwarts. i liked the 6th book ,”harry potter and half-blood prince” the most.

i just played a quiz to find ” who am i ” in harry potter .. the results say that , i was :) :) :) :) :)

Harry Potter :)

this is  one of the books,which gives u the pleasure of reading a story to the core.i read this book exactly 4 years ago, after that i have read this another 2 times. this is one of the biggest books ,you can find to read yet it is enjoyable.description of the plot and characterization would make u visvalize the story in front. plot of the story is set on 10th century . it starts with the journey of ‘vandhiydevan’ as a messagener from karaikal cholan ,the crown prince to his sister kundhavai and the events after that. the story is written in such a way that everyone would admire ‘arunmozhivarman’,hero of the plot  but u would like vandhiyadevan ‘the most’ . after the reading the book , it aggrevated my thirst for knewing anciet tamil history and i read few books regarding the cholos :) . this is the one of the stories , which should be taken as a movie which has all the ingreidents of the good commericial movie :) . i just was thinking about the cast for the film  and my cast is

karikal cholan: vikram
kundhavai : jothika
ponniyian selvan: Ajith
vandhiyadevan: vijay
periya paluvatiyar: sathya raj
chinna paluvatiyar: napolean
alwaradigan:nasser/prakesh raj
nandhini: thrisha
manimagalai:laila
vanathi:sneha
sentan amudhan: prasanna
pookuzhali: priyamani
prime minister: sivakumar
parthiva pallavan: arjun
kandhanmaran: riyas khan
if u knew tamil and u have slighest of interest in history , then u would surely  miss

something in life without reading this epic. some of the things which made a impression one me

were
* kundhavai-vandhiyadevan love
* vandhiyadevan-alwaradigan duo
* nandhini ’s characterization
* vandhiyadevan’s adventures
* prime minister’s intelligence
* ponniyian selvan’s tejas
* manimagalai’s end
* pookuzhali’s courage

GIRL-BOY friendships: i saw a movie ” finding neverland” . it is about a friendship that blossomed between a married man and widower with 4 sons.it has depicted the relationship between them with such a dignity ,which hardly movies does :( . i have doubts that whether our society ,would honour the girl-boy relationships outside the college environment. would we able to continue without any hi-cups from outside world. my question is , would the society allow the gal-boy friendships to mature as woman-man friendships ??!!

MONEY: though there r many gods in idol shapes . this is the real god :( :( :P ::P. i have seen many people ,who prefer money more than people.  all of us were running a race to earn more and more money,but we dont care about the end of the race :( .society and social setup is changing fast .  money seems to buy  everything for us . whatever money we earn, at the end we need some self satisfaction and we should do some justice to our life.   i’m not a saint ,i too wanna earn more and more money . but earning money only wont give a meaning to our life. money may satisfy our body not our soul ( if we have :( )

WINESHOPS:  one of the things that irk me in tamil nadu is government itself running the wineshops all over the state. in numerous places, it has been placed near schools ,colleges and prime residential ares. it may fetch enormous revenues, but is government is public limited company ???  is revenue only the motive ??? it should have atleast some of the moral responsibilites , isn’t it ??

cricket &cinema: if these 2 were forbidden from our speech.. then 75 % of our country
cant speak :) ganguly’s sloppy fielding and rajini’s new film were the things that unite people of india:). they provide us a topic for conversation. amount of time we spent of discussing about these topics can be more than anyothere topic for a average indian. we in our life breath these things invarible of caste and religion

i have been using my nokia 2600 handset since feb 9th 2007. it has been a witness to all of my emotions than anything else in this past one year time . it has helped me discover lot of old friends :) . but i lost my mobile due to my carelessness and absentmindness :( on 25th march

some calls i attended with that mobile made that mobile(more are placement oriented,that is the time when i felt the real pressure)

*first call ( to venky) i made,once the TCS results are declared ( i missed that )

* call i made to my dad on may 24th ‘07  the day b/w CTS an TCS

*call , i got from shanmu on the eve of CTS

*variuous calls i received on b’day an i did to others b’days

* my calls to school friends .. (chance illa times )

*call i got from my a unknown person ( blood receipt from me )

once the i found that my cell was missing, after searching for an hour or 2 . i informed my home about that.. they scolded me for searching that llong :) :) . and my sis asked me not to worry much about that nu.. acutually, that moved me and worried me so much that , they were very understanding parents ,anna and akka.. .i remember hardly when they made me to toil or feel..  i dono how am i going to pay back love towards them :( .

4 beautiful years of coll life is comin to an end now :( . it has been a satisfyin 4 years for me,leaving a few things. since i have been staying @ hostel.i have a lot of cute memories to cheer about :) i have been always blessed with good friends throughout my life and that continued in TCE too :) .only one thing that irks me is i cant be a  part of TCE quiz club :( . i feel that it is a missed chance but that’s life :) .
it is really hard to part ways with ppl whom have made my life@TCE,a pleasure ; not only ppl but every part of TCE speaks to me something,when i cross it .. it is a bit emotional thing for me to leave TCE.i would remember and cherish some moments and places for ever. to name a few

but this coll life have taught me a lot of lessons ,more about ppl and behaviour . my hostel life reminded me that ‘man is a social animal :) ‘  i always surpised to see ppl changing a lot(in their behaviour in the negative sense) after somethin new(position/friends/knowledge.. etc) enters their life,that really hurts .but’s that life ,u need to the learn it in the hard way only :) but  @ the end
MEN MAY COME AND GO
BUT I GO ON ,FOREVER :) :)
now,i’m looking forward to  new AND fresh challenges in the  world outside and willing  to go for it. till now i felt “proud to be TCEian” and now my chance comes to do something that would make TCE proud of ‘vinodh” .. would i ?:) :) !!.. bye bye  TCE :( :(
