abhinav bindra’s first medal is not only on this Olympics games for india but also the

first individual gold medal in 112 years . No doubt that bindra has made all indians

proud but we should think , why should we need 112 years to earn a single individual

gold medal.shooters has always provided us with a rich haul of medals in commonwealth

and other games. i see, shooting has been a potential field for many more medals in

the years to come for us. with rathore winning the sole medal in last games and bindra

winning the gold now , government ,corparates and nation now need to back the shooters

though big names like anjali bhawat , samero jung and rathore failed to succeed in

this games . Another field ,where we may expect a medal in near future is Archery .

though , they have disappointed us in this time, they would come with flying colours

in the coming years :)

Apart from this saina came very near to a medal but unfortunately lost in quaterfinals

. Another notable performance is by 2 swimmers who failed to qualify for the finals

but in the process they broke the national record

Eventhough i’m not lucky enough to witness the bindra’s gold cliching event , i was

lucky to hear the INDIAn national anthem to be aired for the first time in olympics (i

hope , i’m correct)

on 20 7 2008 . Ms Madhu Shalini IAS came to trichy employment office to a meet organised by UPSC study circle. she has cleared the civil services and came there to give a short speech about her experiences.. she has graduated from college of engineering guidy ,anna university as ece student in the year 2006(she was a triple centum student in her board exams).she has quit her placements in order to focus on the civil services examinations. she was one of the very few persons to clear the upsc exams in the first attempt . she has took public administraction and geography as her optional subjects . she spoke about the method of study, amount of dedication needed to clear the examinations.

best part is the  Q&A sessions . she is one of the smartest persons , i have ever seen :) . the way she answered in her interview and students queries proved it .

question : how do you feel to work in bihar or UP as a girl ?

answer : both bihar and UP is INDIA ONLY . you would have added north-eastern states where the disturbances elements are more.  where is more trouble , there is more need for civil servants to help the people and nation

question : how to you feel when a politician not as uneducated as u presiding over the system and having a final word in policy making ?

answer : the constitution has clearly stated that people are the more important and so their representives are vested with highest powers .so i fully knew my job is to implement the people welfare systems and help the representative in policy making and more over , we should at the chair only and not the person sitting in it .

these were samples , she was answering queries with calm face and shrewd thinking . she shown her traces of brilliance in international and national issues too . while returning , my friend asked me “113th ippadi na 1st person eppadi da ” ( she has secured 113th rank in civil services ) . after a second , i replied smiling ” may be like us da :P

i recently visited chennai for a 3 day visit.. it has been my friend’s and mine long time wish to visit my friends living there.. 3 days has been great :) . it started with a travel to zoo , we had a nice time seeing animals instead of usual boring human faces :) . then we al visited a hotel ,rain forest by name  for dinner and waited for 45 min before we can taste our foods . our  night  didn ends here , we started playing in xbox :) . myself and nachi stayed in venky’s house in all 3 days and had  a great time in his house.

on the second day , our day started with cricket with venky’s friends in beach . then  we visited citi-center and spencers . we did some purchase .  we saw “the happenings’ by  “manoj N shyamalan “  in INOX . we were been busy that day right from morning till we slept.. so we decided to take rest and  have fun on the next day .

so  we visited sairam’s house on 3rd day and though there was no electricity in his house , there was no shortage of fun :P :P . we played some games too there :) .i was willing to visit the home of these ppl again  :) . not only this visit, all my visits to handfull of friends @ trichy & madurai . my other visits to karaikudi, melur, nellai and odanchatram all were memorable . always visiting friends home and having fun is great .

i just planning for some more visits in near future , my next one would be probably to jayamkondam :) . i love my friends  , i wanna keep them al :)

Recently , in a PIL filed by salem based gandhian Supreme court rejected the creation of a new caste ‘GANDHI CASTE’ citing the reasons that powers of creation of caste like this is vested with parliament of India and not with SC.. there are many reasons why do we need Gandhi Caste at the present situation.

The caste politics have started to show up his ugly faces more frequently than ever before. Leaders like kamaraj and pasumpon muthuramalinga thevar are portraited as Leaders of a single community. they create a illusion that they belong to a single caste group. kamaraj has been forefather of many revolutions in educaution in TN and he is one leader from our state had the chance to be a PM.he is one of the corrupt-free politicians india have ever seen. but the case of thevar is more worse than kamaraj, many of we are beginning to forgot that he is the freedom fighter ,a close aide of Subash chandra Bose and a Leader of leftist forward bloc headed by subash . he is one of the persons , who subash belived firmly during the days of INA. but nowadays his name is used for a single community and giving his name to Madurai Airport causes so many problems since it simply means it gives pride to a caste.. but the persons who used his name for caste politics to be blamed here, they have create a hatred for him among other castes.a leader of national stature is being dumped as leader of single group

one of the other issues that is caused by the castes are communal differences among people.there r still places where some people(said to be lower castes)kept away from the mainstream of things.. recently i read a article which quoted that some section of ppl r restricted from accessing the village’s resource like drinking water, grossary shops an al.. so still untouchablity prevails .. by saying communal differences i don’t say only about untouchabilty, i have seen many ppl regardless of how educauted they are,how good they are,how rational they are, seem to have prejudice that this caste ppl ‘ll be like this, this ‘ll be like ..
even if we create GANDHI caste , most would argue that persons who dont create issues like this only join that.. but if we think of a long time vision like 50 years from now, this can attracte ppl and make your socity with more peaceful and communal harmony :) ..

from my school days, i dreamnt of joining the indian civil services(in particular IAS). even in my 12th english practicals,i spoke why i would join indian civil services .. but after joining BE(cse), i began to forget my dream. but recent events within a month, have triggered my passion once again. one day,i was speakin with a friend who wants to be journalist.. that event triggered me to travel a path which i wanted to and not a path, that life takes me.. then i read a cover story about bhagat singh in frontlineand his last speech in court really moved me.. 10 years down the lane ,i may or mayn’t fulfill my dream but …………….

i have some other chinna chinna aasai’s .. wanna swim , wanna learn flute :) , wanna start or associate myself with a NGO or a trust like thin.. donate blood regularly, travel places etc

i along with some 10 friends went to athisayam theme park for a one day trip.. it was an memorable trip. we went there by 9 45 an stayed till the sunset.. in the forenoon,we were busy with water games an then we moved to dry games.. i loved the water games very much.. water games was full of fun.. but dry games really thrilled me, in some games like swinging chairs enn uyrie enkita illa :) .. they made us to scream

during last sem holidays.we (myself, ravi & karthikeyan) are asked to design a portal for alumni.so that they can interact with their friends a\nd college administration..at first,we thought goin in for phpbb2 but we are suggested that goin for opensourcecms would be a much better option.then we think of civicspace, which is a popular social networkin cms,is not available for download..so we learned that drupal 5.0 has the features of civicspace ,so we decided to go ahead with drupal 5.0
installation part of drupal 5.0 is little bit different from dru\pal 4.7.3 .but using the README file we can easily figure it out..then we start\ed to customize the portal for need’s of alumni.it is really a time consumin job, which at times irritate us.. even thougth it make look like simple customizat\ion of existin cms.to my satisfaction i hav done some hackin into css and page.tpl.php and done some changes with css and modules present there..and written s\ome php snippets in between the pages.. the link for the site is HERE..

today i voted at 9.30 for the second time in 5 months , this is the first time i voted in a ballot paper. votin gives me a great joy and satisfaction as being a part of india’s democracy. but some questions arised in my mind , whether vote is valid(in a time where votes r selled like vegetables) , is democracy in india  turnin to a failure model ??  i try to find answers in succesive posts
